Greetings from the Elders. After the summer slump and a halt in raiding due to lack of numbers, we are back, and with new members and a new officer (Spudmella) also Ananchel has taken the reins as GM, so with a renewed vigour raiding has begun once more.

Three weeks after we first entered Firelands, it's cleared, with our spectacularly patented "last try" on Ragnaros which saw him die with only 2 dps, 1 tank and 1 healer remaining!! With this victory under our belts now we set our collective beady eyes on the next target, Deathwing and with 4.3 is released 5/8, Deathwing's days are numbered!!

Since our last update Tarkanis has been promoted to the new EaP GM and Kerdozia has been promoted to guild Officer. Good luck both of you!

We've had a few issues with getting our raids together as some long time members and reliable raiders took breaks or changed their gaming focus to PvP. As a result of this we failed to get a regular raid going for a few weeks. We approached our in game friends in Elysium and managed to get some co-op raids going which tied things over for a few weeks. During this time we downed Magmaw, Omnitron, Maloriak and Atramedes with a few struggles. Thank you very much Elysium, we hope you enjoyed those raids as much as we did. Recently EaP has been returning to our original strength with members returning and we’re (almost) back to doing full guild raids again. In our “return” raid, we had to pug 2 or 3 but we’re able to kill 5/6 bosses in BWD and clear BoT, it’s good to be back, no guild achievement yet but all we need is a run with 8 Elders!!

Hopefully we’ll be able to clear both BWD and BoT and be suitably geared and prepared for Firelands when it hits!

2011 is here and the ever evolving entity that is Elders at Play continues onwards. Raiding has begun and it's fun again EaP's ranks have changed and so have the officers. Sorrowless, Tarkanis and Solyon have replaced Ashir, Bluehill and Celysse and we are looking forward to abusing our power ;P

In raiding news we have spent a couple of weeks in Bastion of Twilight and overcome Halfus Wyrmbreaker, Valiona and Theralion and Twilight Ascendant Council then made our way to Cho'gall where we had some great attempts getting him to 9.3%.

In PvP news we are having a PvP push recently. There has never been so many arena teams in EaP and with this surge, Rated BG's are just round the corner!!

Well, we managed to survive the madness that was the first week of the expansion and i'm sure the long term mental trauma suffered by us will be minimal, however the real ongoing Cataclysm remains. I speak of course about the Cataclysmic queue's to actually log in and play! 3 hours waiting in a queue before we can join the overpopulated zones is a nightmare!
It's getting better though, i still pin it on the first week extravaganza of people having time off work on holiday or "sick". The queue times on weekday evenings are around an hour now, not the end of the world but still a pain. Anyway, that's enough qqq (see what i did there?)./

After some monumental all nighters from our addicts, Nügax came in as our first to level 85, closely followed by Ashir and Kerdozia so grats to them, you can now go and get some sleep.

So how about those heroics? There's a lot of threads buzzing around the interweb about them being too difficult and asking for nerfs. Please, for the love of god Blizzard, don't cave in! We like it hard! We like it rough! We like it... wait this is leading somewhere we don't want to go. But seriously, yes the heroics are hard. The name kind of implies that it's going to be tough, what with them being heroic and all. We're progressing through them reliably with guild groups and encountering minimal problems. Yeah there's still the occasional zomgheroicwipe! but the game is fun again, there's a challenge involved, and for that we're all thankful. Once we've milked the heroics a bit more and the CC classes have dusted off their Polymorph, Sap and Root buttons, we'll venture into some raiding. Looking forward to that. If the raids are as tough as the Heroics then we'll all be sitting down carefully for a while :)

It's been a while since we last updated so brace yourself...

Firstly we had some issues regarding filling 25 man raids in the early part of the year, as such we decided to switch the guilds raiding focus to 10 mans aiming to run 2 separate groups each week, one as progress, the other as a more relaxed environment. Ultimately our progress increased greatly and we've met and subsequently defeated Arthas in 10 man normal as well as allowing the progress group to move on to hard modes (currently 8/12 there, yay us!)
The normal group is making steady progress through ICC and currently sits at 11/12 with just Arthas standing in the way of another round of spiffy new titles and stuff.

In April we decided to give 25 mans a go again and struck up a working relationship with the guild Elysium. The alliance has allowed both guilds to make steady 25 man progress up until now, but with the upcoming summer (aka beer and barbeque season), some slow down has occured.

Earlier this month some of our members took it upon themselves to arrange weekly PUG 25 man runs through ICC with a good level of success, good job to those involved.
